HARTMAN ENGINEERING is a co-sponsor with the L. B. Foster Company of the Joint Committee for Education and Training. The mission of the Joint Committee is “to promote safe design and construction of steel sheet pile structures by providing education and training activities for design engineers and personnel in organizations responsible for the promulgation of codes and specifications”.

The primary method of carrying out the mission is by conducting seminars throughout the United States. These seminars usually have a local sponsor such as the local chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers.

The Joint Committee was organized in 2000 and was granted accreditation the same year by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET). Re-accreditation was granted in 2005.

The seminar currently being offered is “Design and Construction of Steel Sheet Piling Structures”. Dr. Hartman provides a full day presentation sharing his expertise and more than 35 years of experience. The presentation provides both theoretical and practical insights into the topic. It also includes many examples of both good and not so good design practices. The attendees are awarded 0.7 CEU’s.
